thirteen facts

:bulletblue:  currently, i rely on free wifi where i rent. the trouble is it can either be super-slow or unavailable. so i really can't keep up with all the things i want to do around DeviantArt.

:bulletblue:  i don't know what to do if DeviantArt shuts down for good because I plan to leave all of my written work here.

:bulletblue:  i plan to write a memoir (a bio of some sort) and haven't started anything. i procrastinate frequently.

:bulletblue:  i arrange the songs on my ipod not by album or genre but by the year they were released or according to the year they made it to billboard hot 100.

:bulletblue:  i see something on TV, read a book or watch the news and cry involuntarily.

:bulletblue:  when faced with my own fears, anger and sorrow, i become stoic. i wait for tears and they don't fall.

:bulletblue:  i like (light) blue and pink.

:bulletblue:  i follow HONY (Humans of New York) and Becoming Minimalist.

:bulletblue:  i like to be someone who saves money for retirement and owns her own house.

:bulletblue:  i aspire to be a cheapskate, a minimalist and an organized person.

:bulletblue:  i am a loner-introvert-couch potato-homebody-socially awkward type of person. (but i don't mind traveling the world, okay?)

:bulletblue:  i have a best friend. In fact, she is my only real friend. she works in tokyo.

:bulletblue:  the story behind my username is: it gets lonely a lot but I hope that everything is uphill from here.

:iconquirkycuriousbex:
thirteen questions from QuirkyCuriousBex.

1. Do you have any guilty pleasures? (And don't you dare just say yes and leave it at that. THAT'S JUST CRUEL, MAN.)

:bulletblue: Yes, I have a lot of guilty pleasures. Some I can't even post here.
:bulletblue: I watch soap and talk shows. I like salty food. I oversleep. I like promos.

2. If you were to write a book about your life, what would you title it?

:bulletblue: I can't think of a catchy title.
:bulletblue: This is all I've got so far: Every Page of Me.

3. What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given, about anything: art, life, love, whatever?

:bulletblue: Recently I've been following Becoming Minimalist.
:bulletblue: One of its sample teachings is :
Minimalism is the intentional promotion of the things we most value and the removal of everything that distracts us from it.
It requires a conscious decision because it is a countercultural lifestyle
that stands against the culture of overconsumption
that surrounds us.

4. When it comes to books, movies, TV shows, etc., do you seek out specific genres or are you not genre-picky?

Books

:bulletblue: I easily fall for books. But I prioritize books written by authors in my country.
:bulletblue: They get little love in bookstores and libraries.

Books I feel I don't have to read:

:bulletblue: Twilight, Harry Potter, 50 Shades of Grey (since they're so popular and I have the option to see the movie versions.)

Movies

:bulletblue: When I go to movie houses, I'd rather pay for something suspenseful, visually astonishing, and attention-grabbing.
:bulletblue: Examples would be The Dark Knight and Avengers.
:bulletblue: In the privacy of my home, I'd watch almost anything: love story, drama, horror, Daniel Craig as James Bond, Liam Neeson and Heath Ledger, and historical stuff.
:bulletblue: I like Philippine Indie Films, heavy stuff.
:bulletblue: I like Disney like "Beauty and the Beast" and "Up".
:bulletblue: But I have to catch up on movies; I've been missing out so much.

Movie Genres I don't crave:
:bulletblue: karate movies, comedy or science fiction unless the alien was Loki.

TV Shows

:bulletblue: I enjoyed Dawson's Creek, Felicity and My So-Called Life during their runs.
:bulletblue: My most favorite series are Buffy, The Vampire Slayer, Angel and The Walking Dead.
:bulletblue: I like CI channel, cookings shows, Hollywood gossips, MTV and home improvement shows
:bulletblue: like Clean House and Tiny House Nation.
:bulletblue: In my country, I like Documentary TV Shows.
:bulletblue: When I used to subscribe to Cable, I watch Korea's Screening Humanity.

TV Genres I don't watch:
:bulletblue: Sports or anything about fashion.

5. If you could have personally witnessed something from the past, what would you have wanted to see?

:bulletblue: I have some level of interest on evolution, Biblical events and even wars however I do not really wish to see them.
:bulletblue: For my own safety and sanity, I'd rather watch any existing footage via YouTube.
:bulletblue: But if I could travel time,  I'd like to witness how performing artists have started.
:bulletblue: Like U2 singing With or Without You for the first time
:bulletblue: or Pink singing Just Like a Pill on David Letterman.

6. What's the longest you've gone without sleep?

:bulletblue: I think it was almost 48 hours without sleep. It is one unsettling and lonely memory.

7. What would be the hardest thing for you to give up?

:bulletblue: People and stuff I care about. I appreciate a lot of things, as anyone can tell by now.
:bulletblue: I don't know which one is the hardest to give up.

8. What fictional character(s) do you resonate with?

:bulletblue: I resonate with Lumnay and you can read about her in heirloom.

9. If you were the leader of your country, what would be your first order of business?

:bulletblue: My first order of business is to plant trees and manage garbage.
:bulletblue: I dream of a clean country. Cleanliness leads to health and wellness of being and clutter-free life.
:bulletblue: And the second order of business is to make sure that each classroom has enough chairs,
:bulletblue: ventilation and learning tools: wifi, projector, and sound system.

10. What are your pets, if you have any?

:bulletblue: Neki, my dog of fifteen years, died around eight years ago. I lost count (of the years).
:bulletblue: I don't have my own pet now, but I love my best friend's dog Katy.

11. Are you a night owl or an early bird?

:bulletblue: I could be both. I can stay up late to finish tasks, do movie marathons or internet browsing.
:bulletblue: But I also enjoy the quiet of early mornings when my mind is fresh with ideas.
:bulletblue: But I'd really rather be an early bird if I could discipline myself to be so.

12. What is your opinion on one-night stands?

:bulletblue: It is not for me.
:bulletblue: Even if condoms could prevent the spread of AIDS, I'm much too scared for such risks.
:bulletblue: Plus, there is a risk of me falling apart after a one-night stand given my insecurities and usually low self-esteem.

13. What accomplishment are you most proud of?

:bulletblue: I am proud to have a real friendship with my best friend.
:bulletblue: That I am holding on to life and dreaming new dreams (in spite of disenchantments in the past).
:bulletblue: Also, I am proud of my little accomplishments here on deviantArt: I appreciate every :+fav:, feature, and uplifting comment
.

So I was sifting through my (massive) inbox and came across this, and I coulda sworn I commented on it when you first did it. Quite embarrassed now, actually. So sorry, dear. Me and my forgetfulness, coupled with a scattered brain... Stupid Me!

But I love your answers, dearest. A very, very belated thank you for doing this.
